To speak of Columbus is to speak of tradition and faith, a faith that has been forged over the years and the miracles that the inhabitants have witnessed.
The Basilica of Our Lady of Dolores de Soriano, received the title of sanctity on February 7, 2009 and protects the pilgrim image of the Virgen de los Dolores de Soriano.
In the year of 1705 Fray Luis de Guzmán rescues the image of the Virgin of Dolores from the town of Maconí and takes it to the mission of Santo Domingo de Soriano, today the Basilica, and since then the image is venerated by the inhabitants of Colón and towns surrounding
The faithful have expressed in innumerable votive offerings the miracles of the Virgin of Dolores de Soriano from the healing of an illness to being freed from dangers along the way. The Museum of Miracles, located on the side of the Basilica, exposes a large number of pictorial witnesses of miracles received.
Important celebration dates: February 7, Friday of Dolores and September 15, the Solemnity of the Virgen de los Dolores.

Basilica of Our Lady of Sorrows of Soriano: every day from 06:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
