45 minutes away from Cadereyta, over the Zimapán dam, La Isla eco-camp floats. In the middle of the liquid extension, eight luxurious safari cabins and a pool with an exceptional view are found. The eco-camp is ideal for practicing sportive fishing of black bass and for enjoying the calm-producing water.

Tips

Don’t forget your fishing rod. Pack fresh comfortable clothes, a bathing suit and sun block. Remember to bring your camera.

How to get there

Take Federal Highway 57 Querétaro-México up to the exit towards the Sierra Gorda, continue on State Highway 100 until you merge into Federal Highway 120 San Juan del Río-Xilitla. Once you pass by Cadereyta de Montes, take the exit to El Palmar. When you enter the town, keep going straight until you face a wall and turn left. When you get to a junction turn right on the asphalt road. About 10 minutes ahead, on the left side, you will see a sign that says: Tzibanzá. Follow the signs up to the pier where a boat will take you to the island, La Isla eco-camp.

Recommendations

Cadereyta is found very near La Isla; it is home of two important greenhouses: la Quinta Fernando Schmoll and the Regional Botanical Garden. At the community of El Tepozán one can see marine fossils, while at El Doctor, El Palmar o El Maconí there are ancient cave paintings.
