Historical place transformed in National Park and recreation area

The Cerro de las Campanas is one of the most iconic places of the city, where emperor Maximilian of Habsburg, and the generals Miguel Miramón and Tomás Mejía were shot. Its name comes from a legend that talks about some stones in the hill that sound like bells (Campanas) when you hit them with each other.
