The Huapango Cathedral
Named Magical Town in 2015, San Joaquín offers a varied tourist offer that gives a wide range of leisure and relaxation options.
For example, the Campo Alegre National Park is an ideal wooded area for country lunches and the enjoyment of nature. It has grills, lighting, showers and palapas.
It also has an archaeological site: Ranas, located 3 kilometers from the Municipal Headquarters, in the area located at the top of two hills is another of the attractions of San Joaquin. This site was an important ceremonial, political and religious center of the ancient Chichimecas. Equally fascinating are the cave paintings of San Francisco Gatos, Los Azogues and El Durazno.
Another unforgettable place in this Magical Town is Gruta Los Herrera, with geological formations that are more than 100 million years old. For its wild majesty and the innumerable formations of stalactites and stalagmites that exist inside.
This Magic Town also has an archaeological and mining museum, installed on the top floor of the Municipal Library building. In this enclosure are exhibited pieces of ancient indigenous cultures that developed what is now the community of San Joaquin.
Before leaving this place, do not forget to visit the Mirador La Cruz and take in your memory a panoramic view of the town.
